When I hear someone sick, I usually say get well now instead of soon. We should never prolong our sickness so here are some tips for you:
Take Vitamins!
Colds can't be cured, but taking up to 500 mg of vitamin c and up to three zinc lozenges a day may reduce the severity of your symptoms and get you back on your feet quickly enough to enjoy the rest of your vacation.
Eat soup
With protein and veggies, chicken soup is rich in nutrients that inhibit the inflammatory cells that cause headache, fever and body aches. Plus, chicken contains cysteine, and amino acid that thins mucus.
Drink up
Add two tablespoons of apple-cider vinegar and one tablespoon of honey to a mug of hot water; down it three to four times daily. Vinegar is a natural antimicrobial that helps your body fight off invading cold and flu viruses.
What about medicine?
Take ibuprofen to reduce fever, headache, or a sore throat. And an antihistamine to clear congestion. Avoid aspirin - you could develop Reye's syndrome, an illness that is potentially fatal to those under 20.
