LAB.C Lightning Cable (white silver)

If you're an Apple product user, I'm pretty sure you've had problems with your lightning cable. I honestly don't know why these cables were designed to be so weak compared to the other smartphone brands. It's quite annoying already.

My second (2nd) lightning cable gave up on me a few weeks ago and I had to purchase a new one... again! Well, this is usually the problem we encounter: the cord from the charger tip (to the phone) or the usb part (to the main charger power) gets torn out easily or frayed (see photo below).

They say this happens when we use them while charging our phones. If that's the case, then manufacturers should change the cord material or design to make it long-lasting, right?

the Product

Anyway, as mentioned earlier, I bought a new one and it was different from the original cord. PowerMac Center, SM Dasmarinas didn't have stocks of the original Apple cord so the staff suggested me this cord. It's 1.2m long, shorter than my previous one which was 2m long.

The box includes the lightning cable and a mini brochure that showcases the other products of the brand. According to the brochure...
Cable A.L
Lightning 8pin/Micro 5pin
  • Rapid Charge
  • 1.2m length (4ft)
  • Connection to Sync & Charge
  • Tangle-free cable
  • MFi Certified (lightning 8pin)

The cord is covered with a shoe lace like texture and looks thicker than my original cord. There's actual two colors available, black & white silver. I chose white silver because it would match my power adapter but I realized I made a mistake because this color if more prone to dirt and stains especially that it has that kind of texture. This is priced at Php990 (roughly $22).

the Verdict

I have been using this for over a month now and it does charge faster than my previous one. The cord still looks perfect thought it's not as white as when I first bought it. The only problem I had with this is the ends. The tip (to the phone) is quite thicker than the original so when you use a thick style phone case, you won't be able to put it in. As for the usb part, I don't know why but it's too loose. It's not loose on the power adapter but on my powerbanks; it easily comes off.

Other than those issues, so far, I'm quite satisfied with the quality of this cord. Hoping it could last more than a year this time! I don't want to purchase a lightning cable every year! Haha! I'll update this post if anything wrong happens. :)

Simply pretty

Honestly, I don't know how to describe my outfit last Friday. I wore this top I bought from a thrift store in Papua New Guinea. It was the Jajay's top from this post  while pairing it with my LeDonne pastel pink flats, my BNY jeans and my Sophie Martin bag. To finish up the girly look, I wore my i2i shades. I felt pretty that day. Simple but pretty. :p
